Capital Formation Requirements Calculator
Find out what your raise actually requires to close. Convert your remaining capital target into the funded investors, qualified relationships, and investor opportunities you need each month for the time left in your raise.
Three formulas, applied in sequence
The calculator works backward from your goal. It divides your remaining capital target by your expected average allocation to find the number of funded investors required. It then divides that figure by your expected qualified-investor close rate to find the qualified relationships required, and divides again by your qualification rate to find the total investor opportunities required.
Spreading those totals across the months remaining in your raise gives you a monthly requirement for each stage. That turns a large, abstract target into concrete activity your team can plan, staff, and measure against.
Know the requirement before you commit the budget
Many raises set a budget first and hope the target follows. Knowing the required number of opportunities, qualified relationships, and funded investors first lets you test whether your current channels, team capacity, and timeline can realistically deliver the raise.
If the monthly requirement is far above what your pipeline produces today, the gap is a planning signal: adjust the timeline, improve qualification and close rates, or build a more capable acquisition system before spending more.
