Cost of Acquiring Capital Calculator
Check whether you are acquiring capital within design or off plan. Compare what your raise was budgeted to cost with what it is actually costing, based on capital acquired and investment spent to date.
Two ratios, one comparison
The first ratio is your planned cost of acquiring capital: your approved acquisition budget divided by your capital target. The second is your actual cost to date: your total investor-acquisition investment so far divided by the capital you have acquired so far. Comparing the two shows whether each dollar raised is costing more or less than planned.
The calculator also compares the share of your fundraising timeline that has elapsed with the share of your capital target already acquired, so you can see whether progress is keeping pace with time as well as with budget.
A snapshot tells you where you stand. An audit tells you why.
This calculator gives you a capital formation snapshot at a single point in time. If your actual cost is running above plan or progress is behind schedule, the next step is to understand the cause, whether that is lead quality, qualification, conversion, or a lack of retention and referral systems.
The Marketing Performance Audit takes that next step by breaking your costs and results into their parts and showing the capital your current approach is not pursuing.
